WordPress

Route WordPress mail through Epostix using an SMTP plugin. A verified sending domain provides authentication, while Activity shows what happened after submission. This does not guarantee inbox placement.

Configure

Install any SMTP plugin (WP Mail SMTP and Post SMTP are both fine) and enter:

SettingValue
Hostsmtp.epostix.com
Port587
EncryptionTLS
AuthenticationOn
UsernameYour SMTP username
PasswordYour SMTP password
From addressAn address at your verified domain

Credentials come from API Keys & SMTP in the dashboard. They are not API keys, and the two are not interchangeable.

The from address is the part that matters

Set From to an address at the domain you verified with us, such as wordpress@mail.yourdomain.com.

WordPress defaults to wordpress@yourdomain.com, and plugins often default to the site administrator's personal address. If that address is at a domain you have not verified here, the message is rejected before it reaches anyone.

Turn on the plugin's "force from address" option so a contact form plugin cannot override it with the visitor's address.

Check it worked

Send a test from the plugin, then open Activity. Follow it from Accepted to a delivery result. Timing depends on the receiving server.

If it is not there at all, WordPress never handed it over: the plugin is misconfigured, or another plugin is intercepting wp_mail. If it is there and Failed, open it and the reason is on the message.
